ADURO "Connect Well" - HTML5 Ipad & Mobile Apps for health screenings
Introduction
Headquartered in Redmond, Washington, Aduro was founded with the goal of using data and technology to help workers improve their health, well-being, and productivity. Aduro conducts on-site bio-screenings of employees at firms and records the gathered information to make health and lifestyle-related recommendations. By improving the lives of individual employees, Aduro helps to maximize the effectiveness of the organizations they belong to.
Challenges
Aduro’s previous solution leveraged a third-party software platform and was not cost-effective, mainly because the company had to pay licensing fees for each screener. Also, after their screenings, users had no digital access to their records – data processing delays ranged from 15 minutes to 8 hours. This solution did not live up to the security and privacy standards that Aduro wanted to offer their customers.
Solution
We created proprietary technology for the biometric team called Connect Well, an iPad application designed for use at the screening event. Connect Well is a cloud-based application fully compliant with the HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) requirements. We used the best industry practices in security and privacy to create the application, including encryption, hashing, and transport layer security. Also, we created a mobile app called "My Connect Well." Using this app, users can register, check-in for a screening, and check their results on their device.
Results
Using the Connect Well application our team developed, Aduro has been able to remove high licensing costs and reduce their operational costs. The app has eliminated processing delays and made biometric data freely accessible to those being tested – they can view and interpret their results anytime, anywhere. “Connect Well” meets the high-security standards recommended by the medical industry and is entirely HIPAA compliant.
